JACKLYN’S MUST-LISTENS
Jacklyn is a a monthly resident on Slacks Radio and a resident DJ at Ghetec. Reining in on the cleaner corners of oscillation, Jacklyn navigates through a collection of puristic techno styles as a DJ and producer. Included in DJ Mag's emerging artist spotlight in their February issue, she toys with atmospheric landscapes, cooking together moodier raw European techno styles with synth-loaded Detroit-esque bombs that have become beloved locally and internationally. She made legendary debuts at Berlin’s Tresor and HÖR in 2022.
For CLASS, Jacklyn reveals the tracks and mixes she’s got on repeat.
1. SHDW & Obscure Shape - Bravetown [Grooves for Ukraine]
I always play this track during my sets to bring out a lot of energy. It’s such a mood changer and brings the crowd together enabling me to go harder and faster throughout my sets.
2. Hedström & Pflug - Nepal Morning
This track has a lot of groove and is easy to dance to. I listen to it a lot whilst I’m working out or rushing to get somewhere. It gives me a massive boost of energy.
3. Harry Brompton’s Ice Tea
This is a moodier track I love, very sensual and slow. I’ve listened to this track on repeat. I love the lyrics and the guitar riffs in this song, it’s definitely a beautiful track.
4. Xopowo – Ненавижу(?)
This track is a little gem I discovered a while ago, it’s quite short (1min19) but I wish it was way longer. It’s quite moody and includes beautiful Russian deep vocals and it’s a resonating deep hymn. It’s definitely a song to listen to during a rainy and cloudy day.
5. Reckoner
One of my favourite songs in the world. I’ve listened to this when hiking, travelling, being in love and even mourning. This song has soundtracked my life and no matter how many times I listen to it, I’ll never get sick of it.
I love the lyrics and overall theme of the song, it’s genuinely a perfect song.
