CRAMSIE’S MUST-LISTENS

Cramsie is a DJ/Producer from Northern Ireland/France currently studying in Newcastle. With a strong musical background in classical music, he started DJing age 16 after a controversial introduction to dance music through mainstream EDM. Delving deeper led to an obsession with house, techno, acid, trance, funk and disco with a move to Newcastle opening him up to genres such as garage and breaks. With sets for the likes of Big Fat Rave, Wheel Up!, Groovy Disco Tech and Flipside he’s supported artists such as Prospa, Salute and Krystal Klear at venues across town like World Headquarters, Cosmic and Zerox. He is making his foray into promoting, having joined the Raw Cuts team. He prefers a multi genre approach with a focus on groove, energy and euphoria and assures that he has lots more music to make.

Cramsie revealed to CLASS the tracks and mixes he’s got on repeat.

1. Acid Jerks - Remote Area EP

This track has all the elements of a classic house track with a minimal approach to the arrangement and those lush pianos just get you locked into the groove.

2. LUXE - May I Help You

I love how this track blends influences of trance, breaks, dubstep, 140 and presents it in a really cohesive way to make a really unique sound.

3. 2S+ - (Cromby’s Snake Remix)

This track gives me peak time energy with a massive breakdown that really builds the tension before releasing it with a really strong hypnotic acid line and simplistic 909 percussion - tried and tested club banger!

4. Keep It Clear

The production value on this is really high quality, it incorporates a lot of old school sounds with loads of creative sampling and presents it in a really modern way. It’s so funky it’s bound to get you moving and this track doesn’t take itself too seriously which is an attitude to music that I love.

5. I Want You: The John Morales M+M Mixes

This is my nod to the origins of dance music from funk and soul - simplistic chords, guitars and bass lines with a emotion invoking vocal from one of the best to do it. This is one that I’ve got on repeat at home always.
